TORKELSON JOINS THE 90-POINT CLUB IN KAMLOOPS
September 1, 2009
Jesse Torkelson knew he had a great bull when he looked at the draw for the Kamloops Pro Rodeo and saw his name next to Little White Lie’s.
“I’d seen him out a couple times this year, and guys had a lot of trouble staying on him,” the Winfield, Alta. cowboy said of the Franklin Rodeo bull. “I knew that if I could stay on, it’d be a good one.”
In truth, it was a great ride, and worth first place in the bull riding at the two-day rodeo in Kamloops, B.C.
Little White Lie has bested every cowboy to come at him this season, but Torkelson rode the spinner to a 90.5 during the second performance on Aug, 29, adding $1,543 to his season’s earnings.
His score also tied for the seasons best in the bull riding. Torkelson’s travel partner Beau Hill picked up a 90.5 in William’s Lake, B.C. on C+ Rodeo’s Scar Tissue in June, and Torkelson couldn’t be happier to share the honour.
“It’s always nice when your friends do well. It keeps things exciting and everything positive.”
