CONTESTANTS SET TO "BATTLE FOR THE BUCKLES" AT WAINWRIGHT STAMPEDE
June 24, 2010
Get ready for the peak of the Canadian rodeo season as the action gets underway tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the 57th annual Wainwright Stampede. The four-day rodeo is celebrating a new format this year, one they’ve entitled “Battle For The Buckles.”
The top ten in each event after the first four rodeo performances and slack will meet head-to-head at the Sunday performance to determine the champions at Wainwright, Alta., and the big point winners at the Canadian Professional Rodeo Tour rodeo.
Also this weekend is the Guy Weadick Memorial Pro Rodeo at High River, Alta., running June 24 to 27, and the Sundre Pro Rodeo in Sundre, Alta., which begins June 25 and also runs through to June 27.
But the rodeo action doesn’t stop there. The Ponoka Stampede gets underway Monday, June 28, with the Airdrie Pro Rodeo kicking off June 29. It’s non-stop rodeo action you won’t want to miss!
