CHAMPION BRONC RIDER HOSPITALIZED

Reigning Canadian Saddle Bronc Champion Chet Johnson was taken to hospital on July 20 in Salt Lake City, Utah where he is recovering from a severe head injury.
Johnson bucked off his horse at the Days of '47 Rodeo in Salt Lake City and was kicked in the back of the head while trying to get clear, resulting in multiple skull fractures and subarachnoid bleeding.
The Gillette, Wyo. cowboy, who is well known in the rodeo circuit for both his skill and smile, has been rodeoing in Canada for the past six years. He has qualified for the both Canadian Finals Rodeo and the National Finals Rodeo three times and is currently sitting 24th and 34th in the CPRA and PRCA standings respectively.
