The rodeo world was saddened at the sudden passing of one of its most dedicated and distinguished stock contractors on February 1.
Greg Kesler was a champion rodeo competitor, a skilled pick up man and followed his Hall of Fame father, Reg, into the stock contracting business where he continued and built on a tradition of producing great bucking stock. Kesler-produced rodeos are known for their professionalism and crowd appeal. And Kesler horses and bulls have been honoured many times over with rodeo’s top awards. One example of the many accolades collected by the Kesler stock over the years was the remarkable run from the year 2000 to 2008 when Kesler horses won nine consecutive Canadian Saddle Bronc awards. Greg was the second of four generations of the Kesler family that have been a mainstay of the sport - both in Canada and the United States.
The Canadian Rodeo family is deeply affected by this news and extends deepest condolences to Judy, Duane, Berva-Dawn, Margo, Kurtis, Chase and the rest of the Kesler family.
* The Memorial Service for Greg Kesler was held Monday, February 8, 2016 at Exhibition Park, Lethbridge, AB
