Q&A with - Zane Hankel, Redcliffe, AB
November 11 - Split first place in the steer wrestling with Cody Cassidy (below).

CRN: What was going on in your mind going into this first go-round?
Hankel: I had a lot going on through my mind: a lot of pressure, I was pretty nervous, and I didn't really know what to expect from my steer.
CRN: And how was the steer?
Hankel: I really liked him; he was really good. He didn't run that hard and he was very good on the ground.
CRN: Could you walk us through you run?
Hankel: I got a really good start. William Beierbach was hazing. I had an awesome go. Horse went good. I caught the steer's head and got a good head catch ,and when my feet hit the ground I just slowed down and layed him over. It worked out good.
CRN: The first go-round of your first CFR and you're splitting first – what are you going to tell your friends when you get home?
Hankel: It's awesome. It's an unexplainable feeling just to be at CFR. It's dream and goal come true.
CRN: How does this affect you going into tomorrow's performance?
Hankel: It takes a lot of pressure off, so now I just go have fun. |
