Q&A with - Shay Marks, Sunnybrook, AB
November 13 - Split first place in the boys steer riding with Ty Ellis.

CRN: So how are you enjoying your first CFR?
Marks: It's real good, I haven't bucked off yet. I've placed every night.
CRN: Is it nerve wracking getting out there in front of a huge crowd like that?
Marks: No, I thought it was going to be, but it isn't.
CRN: How do you get ready before you ride?
Marks: I just think about the cow and put the crowds and everything out of my mind.
CRN: How did it feel to win that round tonight?
Marks: Real good.
CRN: What was on your mind when you were riding tonight?
Marks: I had to get around those corners and then make sure I got over.
CRN: Have you seen that cow ridden before?
Marks: Yeah, quite a bit.
CRN: Was it tricky to ride?
Marks: Yeah, that cow bucks off a lot of people.
CRN: Had you ever been on it before?
Marks: No, this was my first time.
CRN: I see you and the other steer riders getting ready together behind the chutes. How do you guys help each other out?
Marks: Yeah, we give each other ideas. Like, if you know a cow, tell him something that'll help him.
CRN: So what's your plan for tomorrow?
Marks: Ride. Win. (chuckles) |
